GUIDELINES FOR ETHICAL APPROVAL OF THE RESEARCH PLANS.

    The following steps shall be followed for granting ethical approval:

• 1. Submission of research synopsis/proposal to the Institutional Review & Ethical Board Technical Review Commitee (IREB-TRC), Gajju Khan Medical College Swabi.
• 2. Technical review by the IREB-TRC.
• 3. Presentation before the IREB.
• 4. Second Review by the IREB-TRC. 
• 5. Approval by the IREB, based on the written recommendation of the IREB-TRC, followed by the assignment of an ID for online verification.
• NOTE:
• i. IREB approval must be obtained before the commencement of data collection. Retrospective approval of a research plan will not be entertained.
• ii. The IREB Proforma must be completed by the Principal Investigator.
• iii. he IREB will be responsible for periodically reviewing the safety of ongoing projects involving interventional trials.
• iv. The IREB meeting will be held every two months.
• v. Usual response time will be 12 weeks.
• vi. IREB approval is mandatory for all research conducted under the ambit of MTI Swabi.
